The third and last reading blog is a commentary on the History of Net.Art reading. This reading starts with the term net.art and how it blossomed into an entire genre of art and created a community within artists. This term started its course in 1995 which was right around the time of introducing new technologies such as emails that make communication reach new, never ending corners. This meant that all different cultures now had a much easier time reaching each other and with the realization that language barriers exist, art became a great way to communicate with one another. So this new idea of net.art became wildly popular across the globe. As net.art started becoming more and more popular, especially in 1997 very elegant and powerful art came about that commented on global events such as war or specific cultural events. I find this very interesting as it seems to be the beginning of the start of digital art. I do believe that digital art can have the power to be more powerful than regular art because it can reach more of the masses and therefore can have a greater impact. All of the softwares introduced to encourage the net.art showed how beautiful the art can be and how easy it can be to share art. Especially since art can be a universal language it should be shared with as many people and cultures as possible. Net.art was an important movement to start digitizing art and opening the world to how amazing art can be.
